Deep Dive Discovery

 Last month our students from the 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades visited the Shell and Aquatic World Museum in Osijek, Croatia.  During the visit, collector and museum director Mr. Vladimir Filipović and Ms. Mandica Stjepanović introduced the students to the consequences of climate change and the impact of plastic waste on marine and ocean life. They also shared their knowledge and experiences about the marine world. The students had the unique opportunity to explore Mr. Filipović’s natural history collection, which he has been gathering for over fifty years. The museum is managed by the Gloria Maris Osijek Association with the support of the City of Osijek and the Tourist Board.  The collection displayed in the museum represents only a small percentage (3-5%) of the entire collection and is the largest of its kind in Croatia and Central Europe.
